The St. Mary’s Parish Scholarship
The St. Mary’s Parish Scholarship is awarded each May to students who are members of St. Mary’s Parish, Oskaloosa, and are currently graduating from a local high school. The various scholarship funds were established by generous church members or by their heirs, as memorials. The Finance Council awarded scholarships to the five students who applied this year. Congratulations to Isabel Feudner, Emily Grahek, Sydney Katko, Jarad Kruse, and Nicholas Reiter.
An invitation from our Bishop
Through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and with deep faith in the people of God, Bishop Zinkula calls the Diocese of Davenport to a revitalization of our faith and a renewal of grace in the spirit of Pentecost. The time is now for the Church to move forward and fill every heart and life with the joy of the Gospel through a fresh encounter with Jesus Christ. Let us rise up and embrace the glorious future for God’s faithful in southeast Iowa.
Vision 20/20 Prayer
Send your Spirit, O God
To open our eyes
That we might see clearly your gifts and blessings,
Past and present,
and so be filled with gratitude.
To open our eyes
That we might see clearly where we have failed to proclaim
The Good News and welcome the stranger,
and so be moved to ongoing conversion.
To open our eyes
That we might see clearly the signs of the times
And where your Christ lies hidden at the margins,
And so see where and how we are being called to serve.
To open our eyes
That we might see clearly the vision that you, O God, have for us,
the Diocese of Davenport,
and so answer your summons into a future together.
Yes, O God, send us your Spirit in a new Pentecost:
Renew our hearts
Renew our Church
Renew our world
Through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Thank you so much for your support of the Treat Yourself Fundraiser!
Through the support of so many, we were able to raise over $2,000 to support St. Mary’s family events next year. The silent auction raised $1,629. This could not have been accomplished without the generous donations we received from so many families in our parish. Thank you so much for your gifts! We also want to thank all the members of our parish family who came to enjoy a fun afternoon together with some awesome desserts and great music!
A special thank you goes out to Shanna Smith who chaired the event, along with Debbie Guild, Katie Rosvold, Donna Tylkowski, Joann Schefers and the many others who helped make this event a success. We would also like to thank Jenny Feudner and the Parise Band for sharing their many talents with us!
