Marriage Preparation

How can I ever express the happiness of a marriage joined by the Church, strengthened by an offering, sealed by a blessing, announced by angels, and ratified by the Father? … How wonderful the bond between two believers, now one in hope, one in desire, one in discipline, one in the same service! They are both children of one Father and servants of the same Master, undivided in spirit and flesh, truly two in one  flesh. Where the flesh is one, one also is the spirit (Tertullian, Ad uxorem.).

Natural Family Planning

Natural Family Planning (NFP) is an umbrella term for various methods of charting a woman’s natural signs of fertility in order that the married couple may achieve or postpone pregnancy. NFP methods are inexpensive, become a normal part of a couple’s daily routine, and can assist the woman in general health awareness.  NFP works with a couple’s fertility, not against it.  Engaged or married couples interested in learning NFP are encouraged to enroll in a certified course of study of which there are several in our area. For answers to common questions about NFP and Catholic teaching please click here to visit  USCCB.
